It seems that the speech recognition feature in Microsoft’s new Vista OS can potentially expose your computer to a serious risk of exploitation. Imagine visiting a web page that pops up a sound file that tells your computer to delete all the files in your documents folder, then empty the trash. As it stands now, until Microsoft fixes this, if you have speech recognition enabled on your brand-spanking new Vista PC, it could happen. There might not be much risk of it happening, but that doesn’t matter if you’re the poor slob it happens to.
